Miguel Antonio Barreto D’Addona is a young Venezuelan guitarist. He was born in 1998, and started his music endeavor at a very young age, studying music at the “Vicente Emilio Sojo” conservatory in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
Having started as a trumpet player in a children’s orchestra from the National System of Youth and Children Symphony Orchestras of Venezuela, he turned from classical to modern when his parents gave him an electric guitar for Christmas.
Since that day, the guitar has been his one and only instrument, performing styles ranging from Classical and Jazz to Rock and Metal.
Miguel has appeared with the Miami Symphony Orchestra in several concerts such as “The Miami Design District Performance Series”, MISO in the Parks, MISO Chamber Music Series, “A 60’s Musical Journey with Rudy Perez and Friends”, and “The 3 Bs”.
In 2019, Miguel premiered “A Bach’s Electric Journey for Guitar and Orchestra”, a work based on Bach’s Harpsichord Concertos, and arranged by Miguel’s father and MISO composer in residence, Tarcisio Barreto.

Inquisitive about the world around her, it didn’t take long for her to start creating her own compositions, where she eventually won First Place of her age group in the Composition Contest at the MMTA Honors Recital.
An avid reader, her compositions often express larger narrative elements, as their titles often suggest- “The Death of a Queen”, “The Days Before Spring”, “Gliding through the Air” for example.
Her intellectual curiosity takes her from ancient history, through robotics, to creative writing, and when playing the piano she brings all of these elements together with delicacy and energy.
